Camping trip

Hey people. Today I'm gonna talk about my camping trip. Here it goes.

So me and my family went camping over the weekend. It's the first time I've been camping. Excluding a tent in my back yard. I had a great time.

We came on Friday after school and unpacked before starting a fire. We then roasted hot dogs on sticks and made smores. Afterwards we sat around the camp fire and told scary stories. First it was me roughly remembering bits and pieces of stories adding up to a okay short story that was a little scary. Alex had a story that didn't make much sense and involved a beanstalk and snot. Dad had a actual scary story that left us silenced. Katie had a mock up of dad's story that made everyone laugh.

We woke up the next day from our 1 room cabin with the bathroom being 30 feet away in a building. After a pancake breakfast we went to get firewood. Alex went with me to the left and Katie went forward of the camp. We came back with a few twigs and she was lugging a few trees! We went between 2 campsites and she went straight into the forest.

Between then and Sunday we played on the playground and went hiking ending the day with burgers on the campfire. The next day mom started the fire and cooked sausages. I was mostly in charge of the fire from there. Their were a few close calls but I payed attention when mom taught me and was okay with just a sooty jacket. Then we found a funky grove of trees that were very climbable and fun. Unfortunately we left soon to encounter an awesome Chinese restaurant in Hagerstown called Supreme Buffett. It was supreme. Wait! I forgot to mention what dad did! He read comic strips on his iPad. Check out his latest blog post Mandrake the Magician on Do a Barney Oldfield.

So I had fun, bugs and all. I managed my first camping trip with minimal casualties including a flaming marshmallow. Katie covered this too so check out ikatiebug. Bye!

  1. I want to hear Alex's story about the beanstalk and the snot! Sounds spooky! But the scariest story was when you were "mostly in charge of the fire". "Minimal casualties"? How many people died? And then you used your fire powers to defeat SUPREME BUFFET! You rule!
