Ocean City toys!

Hello peoples. Today I'm doing a blog on the things I got at Ocean City. Here it goes.

This year was very successful in the toy hunt and I'm am very happy with what I got. First off is one of the Aliens. This is an Alien warrior by NECA. I got both this, and a predalien from It's A Toy Store out of package. This figure is the Alien warrior from Aliens. It has all the features of a warrior and not from the drone such as the head ridges, elbow blades, feet, and hands. The paint is great with the black, blue, and just a little brown. It only has one flaw on it's left upper arm but as I said I bought it out of package. I also bought it with no accessories but it could of had some. The mouth and even the inner jaw can move. The head on mine can move but is quite stiff and the sculpt restricts it. The arms are ball jointed at the shoulders, hinged at the elbows, and cut on the forearm. The wrist moves but be careful not to break the fragile elbow blades. The chest is ball jointed and the tail has a bendy wire in it. The legs are cut at the hip and thigh, and hinged at the knees and ankles. Probably my favorite alien figure so far. 4/5 stars because it could of had better jointed legs so it could crouch easier.

Next is a predator I got at Mike's Toy Store on the boardwalk. This one is called Big Red and is styled after a Samurai. One of the reasons I bought him was his uniqueness. It is part of the NECA Predator line. It's skin is yellowish brown, his armor is bright red, and it's wrist blades are gold. The armor where the wrist blades are stored is a different shade of red which throws that part off a bit.

He is ball jointed at the head, shoulders, hips, wrists, and ankles but the sculpt is a bit restricting. The elbows are hinged, you can turn the waist, and the knees are hinged. It comes with a long and short samurai swords, and 4 hands, opened and closed so he can hold the swords. You can even fit the swords in the sheaths at his belt but be careful.

Overall 4/5. It could of had a removable mask, some articulation in the chest, the thighs are a little to fat and his chest could have been bigger.

Next off is another Alien warrior my grandmother got me. It is also made by NECA. This was there attempt to upgrade the first warrior I reviewed as well as put out a corporal Hicks, and a private Hudson from Aliens but I don't have those. He has the same paint as the first but with a brown overwash and his claws on his feet or hands don't have a metallic silver on them like the first.

He has a ball jointed head, shoulders, chest, and hips. The elbows and knees are double hinged, the wrists are ball and hinged, the feet are hinged, and the tail is bendy. No accessories. Overall he is a 4/5 too. His abdomen is thick and stocky and detracts from the tall thin look the alien is supposed to have, also the right leg on mine is a little loose and some of the double joints are stiff. I consider him more as an equal to the original I have.

A comparison between the two Aliens.

Now we have got the Falconer predator from Predators. He is the same as the one I got for Christmas but a different paint job and this one actually comes with the Falcon. The Falcon is a mechanical hunting bird/ creature. The Falcon fits on the predators arm and back.

This predator has a really cool paint job. Part of him is translucent and the other part black and gray so I assume he is in mid cloak. His only paint flaws are that you can see some of the joints inside him, and the black looks rusted metallic, even on his flesh which looks cool but is inaccurate. He has a ball jointed head but mine is a little stiff leaving him looking down a bit. The shoulders and elbows are ball hinged, his hands turn, his waist turns, his hips and fore legs are cut, and you can turn his boots. His knees are hinged but be careful because one of mine on this one is stiff and the one I got for Christmas broke there. He comes with a Falcon that you can take the blades out of, and his wrist blade with fits in his gauntlet. The wrist blade is translucent so be careful not to lose it.

Overall 3.5/5. The only reasons I bought him is his paint and his Falcon.

A comparison between the two Falconers

I also got the Kenner Aliens Hovertread from It's a Toy Store. It came with a sound pack with batteries included but this is older than me so you can barely hear it with these batteries. The laser guns and the cannon on the front move and you can lift the harness to fit a figure inside. The armor and treads fold out so it can fly. I am not going to rate this because of it's age but it could of had an included figure and wheels under the treads.

My corporal Hicks figure inside the Hovertread.

Lastly we have the Predalien from Aliens Vs Predator: Requiem. No matter How much people hate the character in the movie this figure looks awesome. The paint is nice and insect like with the black, browns, and spots. There is an extra bit of detail around the dome on the head but it looks a little like it was obviously painted there. The see through head dome is nice; it does have a little cut on it but it is not very noticeable. The head is ball jointed and moves the best compared to the other figures. The shoulders are ball jointed but seem very fragile and the the left arm brushes against the left hip which makes it pretty weak. The forearm is cut, you can turn the wrists, the hips are cut, the thighs are cut and there is a wire in the tail. The tail is very long which I don't know if it is accurate but I like it.

The tail spike on mine is bent a bit.

Overall 3/5. This figure looks amazing... in the one stance you can put him in. All it would of taken was some elbow, knee, and a waist joint and this figure would easily be a 4.5/5 or higher. Shame on you NECA.

Me and my brother Alex also got Minecraft swords and I got a hat.

There are the figures I got at Ocean City. Gramps, I will try to write that blog soon but I got a lot of Ideas right now. Bye!

Ocean City

Hey people's. Today I'm going to write about my vacation in Ocean City, New Jersey. Here it goes.

So every year my family goes to Ocean City in New Jersey. We also stop at a toy store called It's a Toy Store. We left at around 7:00 AM Saturday morning and packed everything in the car. At around 11:00 we got to It's a Toy Store. Alex looked for anything to do with superheroes he might like and Dad looked for Six Million Dollar Man stuff. I looked for Predators and Aliens. The Best thing I found was an original foot tall action figure from Alien but since it was so good it was 125$. :( I ended up getting a predalien by Neca, an alien warrior by Neca, the Aliens hover tread by Kenner, an Alien bobble head, and a Predator bobble head. Dad got a Six Million Dollar Man figure, Alex got a Superboy and a Bucky, and Katie got a puzzle. My next blog is going to be on everything I got in detail.

Finally we got to the beach. Grandma and Grandad were there but unfortunately Aunt Robin, Isaac, and Andrew couldn't get there till Wednesday. Uncle Dave couldn't get there till Saturday and we left in the morning so we couldn't see him.   The next day we all got up and went to the beach. Most of the time I played in the sand with my brother before swimming because the life guards don't get there for a while. You have to find the right spot because you want it to eventually hit the water under the sand but you don't want it to happen immediately because the hole won't get deeper as easily. When the lifeguard arrives I go boogie boarding first and when it gets warmer I just swim. The worst part is leaving the beach because you are covered in sand, your wet, you have to carry sandy stuff, and you have to walk back. One of the most nostalgic parts is when it's the morning, it is something about the grey skies and sand and the dark ocean on the horizon.

One of the best parts of the beach is the boardwalk. I remember when I was little me and my family were walking the boardwalk late at night. The sky was pitch black but the boardwalk was lit up by hundreds of multicolored lights from the attractions and the soft glow of the street lights strung together by more lights. I thought it was like this forever, all the way around the entire coast, and endless line of lights, fun places to visit and the ocean crashing against the sand. This time on the last day I set off with the sun setting in front of me eating ice cream with my little cousin Isaac on my shoulders. At those times I think the world would be much better if everyone had their own boardwalk stretching all the way around the world.

Bye.

The Last Starfighter

Hello people's. Today I'm doing a blog on a movie. Here it goes.

On Friday me and Katie watched a movie called the Last Starfighter. This was a movie that Dad got us from Netflix. It is a sci if movie from 1984. The main character, Alex lives in a trailer park and loves to play a videogame called the Last Starfighter. After breaking the record he is recruited to be a Starfighter from the videogame to defend the universe.

Of course Alex was a little hesitant to risk his life defending the Galaxy and quit to go back to Earth.

(Spoilers)Another main part of the plot is Alex being replaced on Earth by a robot. The robot has multiple problems with Alex's girlfriend, his family, and his friends. When Alex comes back to Earth an Assassin tries to kill him until an alien arrives to help him. The alien, badly wounded takes Alex back to the space station.

Here he learns that the enemy has killed every Starfighter except him and he is now the last Starfighter. Grudgingly he goes with another alien to try to defeat the Alien forces. I liked the Last Starfighter but I didn't think it was very unique. I have heard a lot of stories about a boy who plays a videogame and ends up in the actual videogame story. I give it a 6/10.

Bye!

Minecraft

Hey peoples. Today is another videogame blog. Here it goes.

This blog is on, probably my favorite videogame, Minecraft. Minecraft is game with a large world made out of blocks that the player can remove and place. There are 3 modes of gameplay, survival, hardcore, and creative. In creative mode monsters cannot hurt you, you can fly, and you have an unlimited amount of every block. The goal here is just to build whatever you want from futuristic space stations in the sky to towering citadels. In survival mode you start out with nothing in your inventory and a health bar. In this mode you need to craft tools to mine, farm plants, build a house to protect yourself at night when the monsters come out, and finally travel to 2 other dimensions to defeat 2 bosses. If you die you lose everything you had in your inventory and respawn where you last slept in a bed. You have five minutes to find where you died to get your stuff back which will be lying on the ground. After five minutes your things will disappear. After you beat both bosses you have beat the game but you can still continue playing on the same world. Hardcore mode is just like survival mode but once you die you can no longer interact with anything else in the world.

Minecraft is available for PC, smartphone, and Xbox. On the phone there are not any caves underground, the world is much smaller, there is not as many blocks, and you cannot travel to either dimension or fight either boss. On Xbox it has caves under ground, large but not infinite worlds, all the blocks in the PC version and you can travel to both dimensions and fight both bosses. The PC version has large caves, infinite worlds, all the blocks, and both bosses and dimensions.

Another reason I like Minecraft is that it can be heavily modded. Minecraft has many story possibilities but perhaps the most prominent is a medieval fantasy world. And free mods add many new things like more monsters, new dimensions, bosses, blocks, tools and weapons. The possibilities are endless.

Now you see me

Hello people's. Today I am doing another movie review. Here it goes.

Katie finally had her birthday party last Friday. Our friend Sarah came and we went to watch a movie. We saw the movie Now You See Me. It is a movie about magicians doing an illegal magic act. It was a pretty good movie.

The acting was good. It offered many things to think about. The only thing it didn't have was much development of the characters. There was a touch that one character had gone to jail, that there was romance between two characters, and that one characters struggle to become a man. They did almost nothing about those problems and spent most of their time with the reveals and the look of the movie.

Overall I give it four stars. It is a very interesting concept and gets you thinking but I think it was just another money grabbing summer movie. It fits right in with the heist type movie but is still unique. I also think that they chose the actors right. Worth your time but don't get to excited.

Bye
